UBD partnered with KNBC and Telemundo 52 on their annual Support our Schools back-to-school drive by providing Jurassic World, Trolls and Spirit Riding Free backpacks to select viewers who donated $1 or more at participating retailers. All proceeds went to School on Wheels to benefit elementary to high school-age students. School on Wheels is a nonprofit organization that provides school supplies, tutoring and other educational services to children living in shelters, motels, vehicles, foster homes, and on the streets in Southern California.

Supporting Our Schools is an awareness campaign spearheaded by NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations, a division of NBCUniversal that includes NBC4 and Telemundo 52. Since 2017, NBC and Telemundo owned stations in the U.S., and Puerto Rico have raised more than $2.7 million in cash and collected nearly one million school supplies for teachers and students in need.
